Effort Is The Only Currency

I’m currently on lunch/caffeine break and I was listening the founder of a gym chain called Marchon. If you’re in the UK or Australia, you may be familiar.

This founder, Ollie Marchon has a quote that I loved.

A quote I loved so much, I put down my 800th mg of caffeine and starting writing to you.

“Effort is the only currency.”

Perfection.

Effort is something you can control.

Effort is something you can choose to dial up or dial back.

Effort is something that more athletes need.

As you’re reading this you may be thinking to yourself “I always put in 100% effort.”

Do you though?

My life is working with athletes. I know who is putting in the effort and who isn’t.

Coaches, scouts, trainers, physios, we all know who understands effort and who is just going through the motions.

When it comes to hockey, the only thing you as an athlete have to give is your effort.

It is your currency to buy results.

“Effort is the only currency.”
